My 5 Favourite YouTube Finds (03/07/2015)

Bismillahir rahmanir raheem

Firstly, I apologise for not posting a 5 fav finds last week. Ramadan is in full swing and I must admit I got a bit carried away! To make up for it, stay tuned for a bonus video at the end inshaAllah.

Let’s jump straight into it!

I feel like I’m SO late to the (halal) party when it comes to Imran ibn Mansur’s YouTube videos but mashaAllah, the brother has a passion that’s really evident on screen. I particularly liked this one as we can all relate to a time when someone tried to push us to far but subhanAllah, all we need to do is look at the example of the Prophet (saw) to see how we can best deal with these difficult situations…. And I really liked the title!

It’s been very warm in the UK and now we’re mid- Ramadan I’ve been eating a lot more salads at iftar time. These 3 salad recipes are colourful, nutritious and delicious. Check them out!

Lemons are an amazing fruit and inshaAllah we should eat A LOT more of them. I’ve previously mentioned the benefits of lemons in my Sunnah Food Series, you can check out the link here. Homemade lemonade was one of my favourite drinks when I was a kid and this recipe isn’t all that different from how my mom used to make it.

Rushing through prayers… Subhanallah, I myself am guilty of this and I pray Allah swt forgives me. These tips by Sh. Saad Tasleem are excellent and I’ve been following them myself to help me gain khushoo in my prayer. InshaAllah, they’ll help you too.

This is a bit of a random one and I don’t expect everyone to like it but for me, videos like this are essential. I’m not sure if I’ve mentioned it before but I am a kick-boxer. Yes I know – and flexibility is key. Recently, I’ve put myself on a journey to learn how to do the splits and this video from Cassey on Blogilates will inshaallah help me out!

This is a bonus video and a promo in one. Muslims across the world will be looking for the signs of Laylatul Qadar in the last 10 nights of Ramadan. Some just wait for the 27th night but how do we know when it’s Laylatul Qadr? InshaAllah, all these questions and more will be answered by Sh. Omar Suleiman on behalf of the Bayyinah Institute. InshaAllah I’ll be tuning in and I hope you will to!
