If you love checking out new children’s products on Instagram, I’m sure you’ve come across Hijabi Mama Treats. She offers bags and khaleeji cushion dolls for little boys and girls.
Supporting Small Businesses
I‘m all about supporting small businesses and Muslim female ran businesses at that. So, when I was offered my very own khaleeji doll to review I was more than happy to accept.
Nadia, the owner of HIjabi Mama Treats, contacted me right before I gave birth to my little girl and offered to send me a khaleeji doll from her new range featuring a darker skin tone. I strongly believe that representation is very important in children’s toys and was happy to see that she’d put in the extra thought to expand her range.
The Doll’s Big Reveal
It came in a lovely polka dot gold package with purple tissue paper surrounding the doll. Did she know my favourite colour was purple? Lol
I was so excited to open it I did the typical blogger thing and opened the package before taking any pictures. I wasn’t disappointed.
Doll Skin Tone is a PLUS
I could see a noticeable difference in the skin tone when I got the doll out of the packaging. Although it wasn’t as dark as I thought it would be, it was still a difference. Maybe in the future Hijabi Mama Treats would consider an even darker skin tone in the future.
The pillow had a really good firm stuffing (it will need it in my household) and the simplicity of the design is super cute. I love how she’s holding a little tasbeeh as well. The mouse is a little heart which is just adorable and the hijab styling of the doll is just too sweet.
Hijabi Mama Treats: The Verdict
All in all, we love the new addition to our little family. She looks like my daughter and is as cute as a button. I would love to see even more skin tones and possibly outfits to match but I’m sure there’s loads in the pipeline for Hijabi Mama Treats in the future. Jazakillahu khayrun for the gift ukthi, WE LOVE IT!
